Adoption Procedures
Step 1:
After viewing our many animals available for adoption, an adoption form must be completed. The form can be downloaded, or you can complete the form online. The form can be completed online or downloaded for printing. Both options of the form can be accessed by clicking on the yellow “Apply to adopt now” button near the bottom of this page. We recommend you read through the remaining sections of policies and fees before proceeding with an application.
Step 2:
Based on the information provided in the form, we will contact you and invite you to meet the animal in person at No More Tears, should this not have already taken place. We ask that you bring your existing dogs for a social.
Step 3:
If both parties are happy with the meeting and are happy to proceed, an appointment for a home-check will be made. The inspection will be conducted by a member of our staff or a volunteer.
Step 4:
If the home check passes scrutiny, the adoption papers will be put in order. An appointment will be made for collection of the animal(s). Note: Should you have a Cat/s, No More Tears will comply with a Cat test in alignment with behaviourist specialist, however, should the interaction at home not be successful, No More Tears will not be held liable.
Adoption Fees
Adoption Application:
A R150 non-refundable ADOPTION and BOOKING FEE is payable on application. This amount will be deducted from the total Adoption Fee if the application for the adoption is successful, i.e. all requisites have been met. All animals are sterilised (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms before leaving our premises.

Adoption Fees:
You agree that should you adopt an unsterilized puppy or kitten from No More Tears Animal Rescue, you undertake to have the animal sterilized.
If the animal is a Puppy, it must be sterilized when it reaches six months of age. You also undertake to send No More Tears Animal Rescue proof of sterilization.
Puppy: R1250 – includes first vaccination, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping. Should the puppy not be ready for sterilization at the time of going home, No More Tears will provide a sterilization certificate to be claimed at one of our affiliated Vets. Proof of sterilization to be sent to No More Tears.
Adult Dogs: R950 – includes vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping & sterilization.
Cats: R500 – includes vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping & sterilization.
