Jessie’s Story…

jessie

Update on #jessie

First of all, Im so gratefull for all the people that donated towards her care, and to all the people that called and messaged about her. Thank you. Im truly overwhelmed by the support this girl got so far.

Jessie is doing well, and currently at Randfontein Dierehospitaal – Veearts Dr Naude where she is getting the necessary treatment..

She was sedated yesterday, and all the wounds cleaned. At this point in time, it seems that there is still bloodflow to the ear, and the ear might be saved.

She is being treated for pain and infection..

So what is the plan for Jessie..

When we got the call yesterday, and went to go and fetch her, the though was, that this girl must have ensured so much pain, and one dont know what her personality is like, that the first thought was, to rather send her to heaven, but Jessie, had other plans. When I got there, I was shocked, speechless and heartbroken to have seen her condition. No only was she malnourished, she had two wounds on both sides of her face, and her ear, literally hanging on a piece of skin, and even with that, her tail was wagging, and she was just looking for attention.

When I loaded her in the transport crate, with some comfy blankets, she immediately laid down, and as I drove off to the, she was relaxed, and most probably doesnt even know what a blanket is.

My first call was to Shanti Chantelle from The Pit Bull Sanctuary South Africa, I was truly shocked and fairly emotional, and told her the story, and Shanti said, we got her. But, she would need to get a camp set up for her, and we agreed, we will sort the vet, and she will sort the camp. No More Tears Animal Rescue NPC 2021/424969/08 – Randfontein is raising money for the vet, and Shanti and her team will raise money for her camp..

But, our first priority, is to get her back on the road to recovery..

Shanti and her team is the best place for Jessie, when you have spoken to Shanti about the breed, she is extremely passionate about this breed, and knows the breed extremely well, so once has been discharged from the vet, she will head off to The Pit Bull Sanctuary. Shanti personally spends a tremendous time with the animals in her care..

Just for clarity, Shanti and them named her Alara but we have named her Jessie.. So I think for the time being, we should call her Jessie-Alara.. I think she deserves a fancy name..

Ill pop by the vet later today, to get a fresh update on her..

Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every one that rallied behind this girl..

Should you still wish to donate towards her treatment, donations can be paid directly to our vet..
